A parcel travels through pickup, a sorting hub, a truck and a rider's bike before it reaches the customer. It gets stacked, dropped and sometimes rained on. Good packaging protects the product, your rating and your margin.

Choose the right size

The packaging should fit the product closely.

• Too big and the product moves around and breaks.
• Too small and the corners burst open.

Aim for about 2–3 cm of space around the product for padding.

Materials by product type

• Clothing, textiles, soft goods. Seal the item in a clear polythene bag first to keep it dry and clean, then place it in a courier flyer.
• Shoes. Keep them in the shoe box, then put the shoe box inside a flyer or outer carton. Never send a shoe box with a label stuck straight on it.
• Cosmetics and liquids. Tighten the cap, tape it shut, and seal the bottle in a zip bag. Wrap it in bubble wrap and pack it in a small carton, not a flyer.
• Electronics and accessories. Keep the original box. Wrap it in bubble wrap and pack it in a carton.
• Glass, ceramics and fragile items. Use the double-box method below.

Fragile items: the double-box method

1. Wrap the item in at least two layers of bubble wrap and tape the wrap.
2. Place it in a small inner box, filling gaps with crumpled paper so nothing moves.
3. Put the inner box inside a larger outer carton, with at least 5 cm of padding on every side.
4. Shake the box gently. If you hear or feel movement, add more padding.
5. Mark the outer box FRAGILE. Padding does the real work, but the label helps with handling.

Sealing

• Use wide packing tape, not thin cellophane tape.
• Seal cartons with the H-method: one strip along the middle seam, and one strip across each edge seam.
• Don't use rope or string. It catches on sorting machines.
• Reusing a box is fine if it is strong. Remove or cover all old labels and barcodes.

Labels and paperwork

• Stick the shipping label flat on the largest surface, not over a seam or edge.
• Cover the label with clear tape if the package might get wet, but not over the barcode's scan area if it causes glare.
• Put an invoice or packing slip inside the parcel listing the items. It helps the customer check the order, and helps us resolve disputes.

Delivery charges and parcel size

AdeelSab charges a flat Rs 350 per parcel, anywhere in Pakistan. There are no weight bands to calculate. See the delivery page.

A compact parcel still matters, because it travels more safely:

• Use flyers instead of cartons for soft items.
• Don't use a box much bigger than the product.
• Fold clothing neatly instead of rolling it loosely.

Record a packing video

For higher-value orders, record a short, uncut video on your phone while packing. Show the product, any serial number, the sealing and the label. If a customer later reports a missing or damaged item, this video is your strongest evidence. See returns and disputes.
